What is this? The Lyme Picnic Heard around the World is a get together that Jeff Rainey. Eric Pascal Kind and Lisa HIlton are working on making happen.  We thought it would be nice for Lyme friends to  all get together for some face to face time. Not to protest, not to raise awareness, but simply for the fellowship and getting to meet some of your online friends.
There is a Facebook  group  to organize some “get togethers” worldwide for Lyme patients.
Here is a list of all the get togethers by country and state. These are the people who volunteered so far. This list will keep growing so keep checking back in or let us know if you are interested in organizing one!
(We are just getting started so there are no set times or locations yet but we will add them as they get set)

Call to Action: Acknowledgement & Treatment Can Restore Hope & Health

Sarah Knights: Victoria: Age: 23. Health decline began in 2005, at the age of 12.
Since 2005 Sarah’s health has been up and down. A severe downturn in 2014 saw her lose the use of her legs. Doctors had no idea what was wrong and she was told to ‘get used to life in a wheelchair’.
Sarah was diagnosed with Lyme & Co. early in 2015. After intensive treatment she has slowly regained the use of her legs (on ‘good days’). She still has a long way to go to fully restore her health, but that opportunity is now there: made possible with a diagnosis and knowing what to treat.

Before More Lives Are Devastated By Illness

Janine Mieni: New South Wales. Age:  27.  Sick for 16 years: Since the age of 11.
Presented to ER and admitted to hospital numerous times.  Diagnosed with Lyme & Co. in 2014

Dave Main: South Australia. Age: 39 Tick Bite: Queensland 2008.
Diagnosed with Lyme & Co. in May 2012, as were his wife and twins later that year.

Amara Campbell: Queensland. Age: 38 Sick for 15 years .Initially diagnosed with ME/CFS in 2001
In 2010 health deteriorated dramatically and became housebound: Diagnosed with Lyme & Co. 2013

Remembering Scott Chant

Very many people are wishing to pay their respects to Scott and his family and his funeral service/ celebration of life – however due to distance, illness etc., they are not able to attend the service in person. This page has been set up for a central location for those that would like to light a candle, pay their respects, share a fond memory of Scott, to do so online together.

Facebook "Event Page" : Remembering Scott Chant

If you are in Brisbane : Scott’s funeral service is being held on Thursday the 18th of February, 11am at Albany Creek Memorial Park.  Scott’s family has welcomed those that wish to come and pay their respects to do so.
They have mentioned:  “We would like his funeral to be a celebration of Scott’s life so please feel welcome to wear colour and whatever you are most comfortable in. There will be a donation box at the service for anyone wishing to contribute to the Lyme Disease Association of Australia.

For those of you wishing to celebrate Scott’s life following the funeral, we have reserved an area at the Eaton’s Hill Hotel from 12.30.

Scott was a much loved and respected member of the Australian Lyme community. The compassion, generosity of spirit and thoughtfulness he showed to others in the community was amazing, and his loss has been profoundly felt. We can only imagine that the loss would be felt a hundred fold by those that were proud to call him a son, brother, uncle, friend.

Scott fought for recognition and treatment of Lyme Borreliosis in Australia. He had high hopes that the science would "see the truth revealed". Sadly Scott's determination to see Lyme recognised and his love of life and his family was overshadowed by his need to escape his constant pain, and he is now another Australian fighting this battle to gain his angel wings far too soon.

Thoughts with Scott's family, friends, all those that knew and loved him at this extremely sad time <3

Thank you to all involved in the Holiday Wishlist for 2015

6/2/2016

What a great year it was for many children and families  on the 2015 Holiday Wishlist. Many wishes were granted this, sadly not all, but many. Most of the children's wishes were granted and there were some very happy pictures to show it!

We would like to thank those who donated gifts, gifts cards and cash donations to these families. Very special memories were made All but one, wished to remain anonymous publicly so we won't list names of those who helped, just know we are so thankful, and most important the families and children appreciate your support.

Giving is not just about the gift you are giving, it's about giving someone hope. Reminding someone that somebody cares about them. Thank you for offering that to someone this year.

Next year we plan to do things a bit differently. We would like to put together gift packages that we can send out to age appropriate children instead of having families ask for specifics. If you are a crafter, and would like to donate an item or if you would like to send us small gifts, toys, or gift cards, we are going to start fillnig boxes now to send out for next year. Please contact us here to start sending us gifts.

If you have more pictures you'd like to share please send them to us here and we will include them here. Contact us on Facebook.
