Status: The angels and elves are working hard to fulfil this wish - we will keep you updated :)
The Wish:
My wish is for me to be able to go on one family outing to the movies during the 7 week school holidays with my boyfriend, children (16 and 14) and step-son (14). There is very little I am able to do with them and certainly not enough funds to do so. They do so much for me and creating an enjoyable memory for us all would be a dream come true.
The Situation:
I was bitten by a tick in the USA in 1994. For the last 21 years my health has declined. I battled through years of ill health and was diagnosed this year. I have not worked or driven for a year and am house bound for much of the time and when I do leave the house it is predominantly to see one of my 6 doctors, have tests, grocery shop or go to the chemist. My children aged 16 and 14 do not now have a memory of me not being sick - limited in my ability to share their school experiences, milestones and life. My step-son aged 14 has only ever known me to be sick and disabled.
My boyfriend lives 200km away due to his work and is with me at weekends and during the week my children care for me and endure a situation that is more than what any teenager should. They are my carers - as are my boyfriend and step-son.
There is not enough money after paying for my basic medical expenses for any fun activities with the children.
What money I do have is spent on supplements, medical care, tests, medications, transport, paying for home cleaning as I cannot physically do it.
My wish is that I be able to go to see a movie with my boyfriend and the 3 children at our local Birch Carroll and Coyle during the Christmas school holidays as it would be something that we could do as a family with me included. It is the only fun outing I can think of that I could participate in. They endure a situation through me being sick that means that although they do great things with their father and other people, I dread the thought of me declining and their only memory of me being a sickly mother who did not do anything fun.
If this wish was granted it would be the only activity we would do together over the school holidays and would mean the world to me and to them.
Please consider my wish and if you can help make it a reality apart from crying I would be eternally grateful.
If you can help Leonie with her family wish please Contact us here.
We will update the post to advise when wishes are granted. Thank you for helping spread some cheer this holiday season!
Please note: Leonie is in Queensland, Australia. Some suggestions if anyone is able to grant Leonie's wish would be to see the Event site has Booking ticket / e-voucher options which has options for either individual or a book of 5 tickets.
